Lollypop is desperately looking for a new bed to call her own. She was rescued from death row with only an hour to spare and is now waiting patiently for that special person to love.
Lolly loves human company and loves to snuggle up close in bed. She is such a beautiful, smoochy, friendly girl but she always seems to get passed by because everyone wants a kitten!! She is a far cry from the poor skinny girl who first came to live here - she is now what one would call rotund !
If you think you could be that special person who would love her for just being her please give us a call. Lolly really does deserve to have her OWN home. She would probably be better suited to an older person or a grown up family

Jade is a sweet, loving and affectionate girl who loves people and is quite obsessed with saying hello to everyone.
She is very well toilet trained and we are very impressed with her obedience. She is very well behaved and we are happy to say only chews on her own chew toys!
Jade very much enjoys playing, but also knows when it is time to relax in front of the TV.
While Jade is not a small dog she does not need an overly large yard. She only uses our yard to go to the toilet and play with us.
Jade LOVES a cuddle and likes nothing more than relaxing for a belly rub. Jade is still only young and would benefit from another playful dog to play with or a home that will take her out a lot to play with other dogs. She will be great companion for a loving home with another dog or with people home often.

Coco is an incredibly cute and charming little girl. Although she is 7 years old – she doesn’t know it and acts like a much younger dog. She loves to play with her foster brother Yoda and run round the yard. She is very well housetrained (she’s fine with a doggie door) and loves being inside, as such we would like her to go to a family where she will be very much the inside family dog. She isn’t a fussy eater at all and loves her food and has even been known to visit the chook pen next door to help herself to their bread, all without upsetting the chooks and even takes back bread to share for her doggie companions at home, now that's a caring sharing little girl. She travels well in the car and if she is off lead is very well behaved and she will not run off and always comes when called. Unfortunately Coco is camera shy so we haven’t been able to get a picture that shows just how cute this girl is. She is not used to younger children (she tends to hide from them) so a family with kids over 8 would be preferred. Coco is fine with other similar sized dogs and loves to play with them. This girl is a real charmer and is waiting to find her forever home.

She is a big dog with a big heart. Fuzz has been left alone far too much in her 3 year life span. This makes her desperate for your attention, pats & cuddles which means she can be a bit enthusiastic when first greeting you. She was not trained sufficiently as a puppy but has been making some strides in the right direction since coming into care. She does know how to Sit however Stay & Come are being worked on. She does know how to walk loose lead with me but needs to understand there can be more than one leader in her life. She gets over enthusiastic when meeting other dogs, common sense is lost & she strains on lead. She is not a fussy eater thank goodmess & is a healthy weight with a great long shaggy coat.
She was living with a Jack Russell so should be OK with another doggie friend but introductions would need to be guided as her size, weight & sheer excitment could intimidate your dog. She doesn't have a nasty bone in her so with ongoing training she will make a great family pet. She in currently in a foster home with 3 children the youngest being 7. I would Rather not have her go to a family with younger children as they could easily be knocked about by accident.

Spacey is a very pretty, soft coated little girl who is a special needs cat after coming into care from a colony of street cats. Spacey and her siblings came into care at 10 weeks old and while her siblings started to enjoy their foster home within a few days, Spacey has never totally warmed to people. Spacey is more than happy in the company of people but she's not fussed about our presence and isn't keen on being patted or cuddled (although you can do both). Spacey loves other cats and she spends her days snoozing, playing with toys or cuddled up to the other foster cats.
Spacey's ideal home is with another cat as playmate and/or to a home likes to have a cat around without wanting a lapcat or overly affectionate cat.

Love me, love me, love me. That is all Mischa wants. He is very affectionate and just wants to be with someone. He does get along with other dogs fine but may find them a bit boisterous. Regal is cheeky boy but sweet at the same time. Even though he is all black, we truly believe he is part ragdoll as he 'flops' when you pick him up. Regal loves to be picked up and cuddled and will sleep in almost any position which is quite funny to watch - sometimes this involves being wrapped up in the tightest ball, or upside down with paws in the air. He loves to be patted, and especially brushed with his comb. Regal is playful and loves running around the house with his foster sister daphne but would also be happy living on his own. Charlotte, the tortoiseshell girl has had a few close scrapes with death and has used up a couple of her 9 lives.
She is now very healthy & extremely chubby. She has 2 cute stripes to the sides of her eyes - one is black & the other is ginger.
She is extremely well socialised having been raised with other kittens & cats of various ages. The also have had lots of contact with a large dog & think it is acceptable behaviour to wander between the dogs legs and eat her food while the dog is also eating, & play with the fur between her toes.
She is a brilliant travelers in a car, having clocked up around 2000 klms so far, due to being bottle fed, and having been away on holidays with us as well as to work, netball training etc.

What a delightful dog!!! Tammy is calm, mature and super friendly. Tammy has two issues: she suffers from separation anxiety and so is not suitable as an only dog. She also has a plate in her leg from an earlier accident which causes her some soreness in cold weather. Because of this, it would be ideal if she could sleep indoors. Luckily Tammy is housetrained, gets on fantastically with other dogs, is good with cats and loves children… so she should fit easily into most households.

Roxy is very sweet and lovely girl. She loves nothing more than to curl up on your lap and sleep on your bed.....She loves comfort. We think she is crossed Tibetan Spaniel but she is quite small. Roxy will need a new home with colour bond type fencing as she can quite easily climb over fences anything that she can get her feet into and she is over. She would be ideally be suited to an indoor home with someone who is home alot to keep her company and only going outside for toilet breaks, she is toilet trained and will hold all day until she is able to go outside. Scooby is one very lucky boy he was rescued at the very last minute before being put to sleep. The pound staff all loved him and gave him a great reference.
Poor Scoobs wasn't fed very often in his previous home so he needed a few weeks to fatten up and get back into condition.
Scooby isn't a giant dog but he is quite solid and should be around Labrador size or a touch smaller. He is currently learning basic obedience and he is responding very well. He walks resonably on a lead despite this and is great with other dogs. Scoobs doesn't have a bad bone in his body he's a bit clumsy sometimes but very sweet :)

Bindaree (named after a hut in the Victorian high-country) was the last born of a litter of 5.He was born at 8:30pm at night & was not expected as his other 4 sibling had been born hours before.
He had a bit of a rough start to life as he wasn't strong enough to fight his siblings for a nipple, but with outside help putting him on a nipple whenever they could he started to thrive & has turned into a most gorgeous boy.
He has a very unique personality: He loved to ride around on a remote controlled car when he was younger.
He chases the vacuum cleaner around when you are vacuuming & he has a love of playing with water.
He will spend ages splashing his paws in the water bowl and licking them dry, & if the toilet lid is left up, you can be assured he will have heaps of fun splashing around in the toilet bowl.
He also loves to stand on the rim of the toilet when it is flushing. Very unusual.
Bindi also loves to come up for a cuddle & loves the company of other cats as well as our large dog.

currently being broken in and is going very well, he's a quick learner

energy so will need an owner who is dedicated to excercising him, he's
currently being worked 4 times a week. Please note he has a cloudy eye

Von is a lovely sweet gentle boy, who has spent the last 3 yrs in a convent where he was given little to no attention at all. Von is a soft natured, insecure boy who grew up quite dependant on his mother who he lived with up until a year or so ago. He can be frightened by loud noices and busy situations such as planes and traffic but as he settles into a routine he is more relaxed.
Von doesn't seem bothered by cats but he would prefer a home with no other pets so he can have your undivided attention. Grover is a gorgeous boy.
Very gentle and kind and loves to be cuddled.
Grover however is deaf. We believe had he has some close range hearing, but that is about all.
From what we can assess with him he hasn’t had a lot to do with other dogs and is only just learning how to play like a puppy.
The biggest concern we have with Grover was him coming into a new environment. He was quite scared Of my yard and other dogs and it took a couple of days for him to settle in. Once he new he was safe
then he was ok.
He is living with 4 other dogs and is plodding along nicely.

Ellie is a gorgeous friendly little Chihuahua. She is great with kids (Due to her size however over 7 years old is best – younger than that can very easily tread on her). She is good with other dogs similar in size, however she seems to prefer a male companion. She does need to be rehomed with another similar sized dog as she seems much happier with a companion in the yard. When she gets overexcited she will sometimes wet herself but this is not often. She’s not overly playful with toys, she would like to play with the other dogs but as she is so tiny she tends to get left out (She is fairly active though) She will bark if something is bothering her (She’s not yappy just a little girl who will express her opinion when the need calls for it). When Ellie came into care, she had overgrown toenails, flea irritation & some infected teeth. He toenails have been clipped, her back looks lovely again, and her two infected teeth have been removed. Her two missing front teeth don’t hinder her in any way, and she still happily enjoys her food including chicken necks, she is a little slower to eat than the other dogs but she does get there in the end. She does tend to like to have your fingers in her mouth, we are trying to break her of this habit, but its hard as because it doesn’t hurt at all – actually it kind of tickles : ) This little girl is gorgeous in looks & would like a home that will appreciate her.

Beautiful natured girl who loves kids and can only go to a home where she is able to be an integral part of the family. She loves to be where ever her family are and if they go off in different direction she stand there debating as to who she must follow first and then roams around checking on everyone else wherever they are.
When desexed they found she had a cancerous tumor in one of her ovaries. The ovary was removed intact.
Sponsorship Required
When Genna was being desexed an ovarian tumour was discovered during the surgery. Pathology reports showed this to be cancerous however luckily it appears the whole tumour was removed and there is no sign of it having spread. Genna is doing well and is now a happy, bouncy girl after having quite a bad reaction to the anesthetic.

Jess is a very intelligent and gorgeous girl. She is still fairly young with a spring in her step to match. Jess likes to be with people and try's her very best to please her owners in every way she can. She is a very quick learner who will make a fantastic, loving, loyal companion.
Being a young gun, Jess would be best suited to a home that does not have young children or toddlers. She is very sociable with other dogs & would be fine to be an only dog in your family or have a doggie companion. She knows basic obedience, enjoying regular walks and training sessions. Jess has undergone recent reaffirmation training and has progressed well, she knows all her basics, can perform consistently Sit, Stay & Come all the while as "on lead work". She has a high chase drive which is being worked on, so no off leash work has been done.
She is food orientated which makes her a willing & easy subject. Yummy chicken is her favorite treat.
She has been fine to leave throughout the daytime while I work but she must have toys or games to play with, otherwise (like all adolescent dogs) she will find something to amuse herself with. Don't then be surprised to come home to find "something" deserved her attention in your absence. Balls, pull toys, a Kong are enough to keep her busy for hours.
It took Jess a good week to get used to us after coming into care so I'd envisage a settling in period whereby your rules are instigated and some boundaries are tested but a consistent, patient, caring attitude will win her over & you will be rewarded with a great family pet.

Poor little Coco suffered a very bad abscess on her head. Most likely caused from a cat scratch the lump came up quite suddenly and grew very large. The vets believe if it was left any longer she may not have survived. Coco underwent emergency surgery to drain the abscess and we can now report she is doing well and has recovered well.

Update 1/6/09: Emily loves nothing more than to sit next to you while your watching TV or lie down on the bed next to you at night. She has a quite disposition and can amuse herself with a few play toys, mats or the little things we leave lying around, she requires little care as her coat is short hair and she is tortoise shell in colour. Emily has beautiful big golden eyes and a very cute disposition, she very rarely meows and has a placid nature. Emily gets on well with other cats and plays well with dogs (she is currently fostered with our resident japanese spitz whom she adores, a Chihuahua, as well as Cody a foster kitten.) Cope, (named after a Cattleman's hut in the Victorian High country.)
was born on the 28th October 2008 at 3:44pm, & was the 2nd born in a litter of 5 kittens.
Cope has the most divine personality.
He loves to play, is extremely acrobatic, & if you feel a kitten with their paws around your ankle, you don't even have to look down to know it is Cope.
He follows you around and always wants to see what you are doing whether it is the dishwasher, the clothes washing or the vacuuming.
He also loves to play with water - he loves to scoop it out of the bowl with his paw, then lick his paw dry.
Cope absolutely loves our very large dog, walks in and out of her legs, steals her food from her bowl when she is eating and loves to play with her fur, & tries to take her blanket.
Cope would make a wonderful addition to a home with a dog if the dog is very tolerant - if there is any chance the dog wouldn't put up with a cat continually following it around & annoying it, then Cope probably wouldn't fit in, but if you want a cat that adores a dog, this might be the boy for you.
Cope does have a lot of white on him - a very stunning whiter than white, and should be a cat who is able to stay indoors most of the time so he doesn't get cancer on his nose.

Smiggins

These 2 kittens were found in 2 separate cast iron urns. It was a very hot day, the urns were so hot that you couldn't keep your hand on them. Their mum must have left them there when she was moving them & they had slipped through a small hole into the bottom of the pedestal & she couldn't get them out from there. A worker heard their cries for help - very lucky little kittens to be saved.
They were estimated at about 1 & 1/2 weeks old due to their development and they have been bottle fed from the day they were found.
Charlotte, the tortoiseshell girl has had a few close scrapes with death and has used up a couple of her 9 lives.
She is now very healthy & extremely chubby. She has 2 cute stripes to the sides of her eyes - one is black & the other is ginger.
Smiggins had an easier run with life, he has a stunning spotty light grey coat & is also extremely chubby. Smiggins comes running when he is called as he thinks it is always time for food or a cuddle when he is called.
Both kittens are extremely well socialised having been raised with other kittens & cats of various ages. The also have had lots of contact with a large dog & think it is acceptable behaviour to wander between the dogs legs and eat her food while the dog is also eating, & play with the fur between her toes.
They are brilliant travelers in a car, having clocked up around 2000 klms so far, due to being bottle fed, they have been away on holidays with us as well as to work, netball training etc.

Poor Bella gave birth to eight kittens during her short stay in Blacktown pound. She was extremely underweight and exhausted from caring for so many babies. Now that her babies have grown, Bella has put on weight and is ready for a caring new home. Bella is good with other cats and enjoys laying in the sun by the window. She isn't really a lap cat, but is easily handled and has been known to sit next to her carer on the lounge - she has also been caught sleeping on her carer's bed! Bella loves her food and will meow to remind you it's dinner time. Bella is inquistive with big beautiful eyes and with time will become a devoted feline companion.

Ellie is a loyal loving companion. She loves to greet you with a wagging tail and smile at you with her big brown eyes. Although still young she is very quick to learn as she now sits and waits excitedly for her dinner to be placed before her and nd being a typical labrador, her food is finished before you can blink! She loves the company of people and plays very well with the other dog at her carer’s home. She is a big dog and may knock little ones over, but never intentionally! She would suit a sedentary lifestyle, perhaps an older family as Ellie has some health concerns and pants very loudly and becasue of this she would really suit a sedentary life. Ellie can be nervous in new situations and around new people (until she realises there is no threat), she therefore doesn't travel well in the car. She sleeps outside for the time being but would love to curl up on the couch for a tummy rub whenever possible. Her favourite position is on her back, at your feet – asking for tummy rubs! Ellie also bounces like Tigger and will make anyone very happy if she is included as part of their family.

Do you want 40+ kilos of love to greet you every day when you come home from work? With big paws, big tongue, and an even bigger heart Beau is a playful, bossy puppy stuck in a big dogs body. Very food motivated, Beau is a handsome gold coloured fella who will blossom into a giant bundle of love and laughs with the correct training and home. So far he knows the basic command (sit, stay, heel etc) and knows how to wait for food, but he needs the guidance of a firm, patient 'pack leader' to guide him on a daily basis of how to behave. Great on lead, knows basics, sit, stay & down, although doesn't always like to lie down straight away. She is gentle, never mouths, does not jump up & rarely barks. I believe she was well treated before ending up at the pound (2 days prior to whelping), the only thing she shy's away from is the garden hose, as soon as I turn it on she slinks off.
Now that she has weaned all her pups she is looking a lot healthier, not so boney & is a delight to have around.
She is reserved around any other dogs, big, small, smoochy or dominant, it's as if she never had to meet any before. She doesn't react badly or aggressively, she just stays close to my leg, happy to trot past & not have to say a "doggie hello". Meeting my daughter after school has her seeking guidance as the children rush out shrieking & squealing, she's a quiet sole.
Piper is happy to be around my children & as far as I can tell has NO BAD HABITS....
Piper would be happiest in a loving home that includes her in all the day to day activities, but without being too boisterous, she would be submissive with another dog if you have one.
You will not go wrong with PIPER, she is truly an angel, in a dogs body.

Pinky is a very lovable sweet cat with an unusual squeaky meow and a great temperament. She is a bit shy & takes a little while to warm up to you, but once she does she is a terrific companion. Pinky doesn’t mind the occasional cuddle but loves nothing more than sitting next to you on the lounge. Pinky is great with kids - she tolerates our 14month old toddler very well. Pinky doesn’t live with a dog at the moment but has grown up with dogs & has gotten on well with them. He is good with children and loves his foster family but he will bark at strangers won't ever the socialable type with those outside of his family. He is tolit trained, sits for his foods, begs and is really sweet. He is also fine with other dogs. He is playful and walks well on lead. He loves being inside will sleep happily under or on beds.

Holly is the most beautiful girl and is about Labrador size. Holly can be a little timid with new things and gains a lot of confidence from other dogs, therefore she would make an ideal second dog. Meow Meow was taken in as a kitten and dumped at approximately 7 months, she spent the next 3 months fighting off toms and fighting for food. She gave birth to her first litter before she was 12 months old. When she came to DCH, she was heavily flea infested and riddled with tapeworm , she was also pregnant again. Since being in our care she has been desexed and cleared of her fleas and tapeworm. Her coat is shiny, thick and soft, and she has put on weight so that she is quite healthy and happy. Having been cared for as an indoor cat in her early days, she has maintained her domestic training and is still a friendly cat who has from need become quite independent. She is meticulously clean and very well housetrained, she prefers the indoors even when given the opportunity to go outside onto a balcony. She does not like crowds or children, if you have many guests over she is likely to hide under a bed until the excitement dies down. She would suit a home where there is only one or two adults, she gets on well with dogs. She must be an indoors cat. Meow Meow is very playful when given the opportunity, she will chase a laser light for hours if you let her. She is very entertaining and quite beautiful, but like many adult cats, she can be shy with strangers and will take a few weeks to build trust with her new family.

Pickles came to us from the pound with cat flu and her kittens aborted prematurely because of this. She came from the pound with Onions who was also pregnant and once Onions kittens were born she helped feed these 5 kittens who also unfortunately died also because of cat flu. Then we received a call that 3 x 3 week old kittens were homeless as their mum had been run over by a car so to give them a chance we placed them with Pickles and Onions and these girls feed and raised Tastie, Chedda and Brie who found great homes. They also tried desperately to rear 7 kittens but just did not have enough milk. Pickles is a lovely quite, gentle undemanding girl who would make a great lap cat, is not overly active she prefers to wander than run and likes lazing around somewhere soft and comfy.

Millie is a real little cutey. Even though she only weighs 2 kgs she gets
along great with all dogs and was actually found with a male staffy and was
quite upset when they were separated. She would love another canine
companion but does love people and cuddles so would be fine as long as she
had someone around. Due to her small size she would probably not be suited
to smaller children and as she would feel the cold she would definitely need
to be inside at night at least. Millie would not need much exercise but
does love getting out and is good on a lead. She certainly doesn't eat much
but is not a fussy eater. Millie will love whomever can give her a loving,
caring home. She is being cared for in the Wollongong area.

When Riley was found in the pound, He was in a shocking site, covered in sores from fly bites, terribly under weight (skin & bones), the claws on his feet were so over grown it must of made walking extremly painful, and all this was due to the neglect and mistreatment of his previous owner.
Riley is now receiving lots & lots of TLC from his foster carer, he is lovely sweet boy who loves to be around people and loves his pats. He is also excellent with young children, other dogs and cats.
Riley needs a owner who will give his that extra bit of attention & love, Riley is also cross-eyed but that only adds to his charm.

Rocket - Grey & White Male - Rocket loves to run around the house. He loves playing with his toys and with his siblings. After Rocket has tired himself out playing he will happily climb up on you to fall asleep. He has beautiful blue eyes and a confident purr.
Dot - Black & White Female - Dot is a beautiful little girl. She has been green eyes and loves to play with her brothers and sisters. Dot also purrs easily and will happily sleep on top of you while you watch TV. She has the cutest little black dot on the end of her white nose hence her name.
Maisie - Tabby & White - Maisie loves to eat! Poor maisie was a little unwell as a little kitten, but has come forward in leaps and bounds. She has so much energy now and loves to run around with her brothers and sisters. She also loves climbing her scratching post.
Tabby - DSH Tabby! Male - Tabby is the most independant kitten of the bunch. He loves exploring his surroundings and playing with the older cats in the household. Tabby loves his cat tunnel and can keep himself amused for hours jumping in and out of it!
All the kittens are 100% litter trained and are learning to use their scratching post. They are available separately. The above photos are the best their carer could take, they are even cuter in person!

Little Miss was rescued from an industrial site where she had been in the back of a storeroom for 3 days with no food and then was kicked out onto the street to die. When we found this out we rescued her straight away and we have not regretted it for a second. Her lovely nature just warms your heart and she will be sadly missed by her carers when she goes.
She is an adorable little girl who loves cuddles and sleeping close by. She gets along well with adult cats, loves to play and has a special toy she takes with her everywhere.
She will make an excellent addition to any family.

Dunlavin is about 15.2hh and would be black if rugged. He is nice moving and is ideal for trail riding. Dunlavin doesn't spook easily and has been ridden past wombats, wallabies, goannas and large birds without blinking an eye. Due to a previous tendon injury, he would not be suited to being a performance horse. Dunlavin is currently on grass but would do better with some hard feed. He has a tendency to windsuck when stabled, but not in the paddock. He would suit an intermediate rider when being ridden in the company of other horses, but gets separation anxiety and requires an experienced rider when taken away from his buddies.

Duke is solid & well conformed, very easygoing and quiet to handle. He has amazing paces and would suit many disciplines - he's done low level dressage, can jump to a metre, he is great on trails and can be ridden by beginners. He has raced but you would never know it by his temperament or behaviour under saddle. He is a good doer for a Thoroughbred. He requires shoes. Duke would suit an intermediate rider for many disciplines and PC or ARC. He is a big sook and loves attention so a home environment is preferred. Duke was rescued in 2006 following his racing career and was adopted out to a great home, however due to a change in circumstances he's come back to us and is now looking for a new home.

Kaya is very happy, active and athletic. She loves cuddles and is always wanting to be the centre of attention. She loves ear scratches and massages, ropes, stuffed toys, old shoes and bones. Her trampoline is her favourite toy! and she will happily play and run all day with you.
She is an Excellent guard dog and has basic training such as sit and comes when off lead (when there are no birds around). She is quite good on the lead as well but likes to keep a quick pace and investigate everything.
Kaya would prefer the company of another dog that also has the energy to keep up with her. She is good with horses, other dogs and has grown up an outside dog with daily access to horse paddocks. She will chase birds / ducks that are in dam and in paddocks.

Spencer came into the pound as a stray with his arm caught in his collar and resulted in deep lacerations which are over time have become big open wounds. His injuries occured because he was wearing a collar that was too big for him. He is expected to make a full recovery and there should be no lasting damage.
Spencer is a very affectionate boy who loves company.He gets along great with the other cats,doesnt seem to mind the dogs either and would suit a house with or without children.He is a lap cat who enjoys his food, likes to be treated like a real baby and he loves to be the centre of attention as you cannot walk past him without saying your hello`s or he`ll meow and purr to be noticed. His wounds will take a while to heal therefore he needs a loving home and caring home.

Frankie is a very little man with a HUGE personality. We aren't really sure if he is more of a Chihuahua x or Mini Pinscher x but either way he is very small weighing 2kg and approx 20cm tall. Frankie is a very active dog who is always on the go, although he wouldn't need a big backyard he could do with some dog or constant human company to keep him occupied. When he first meets other dogs he growls and barks to put on a front but once he gets to know them he is very friendly and playful. He isn't a yappy dog but if allowed to get away with it he could be, so he will some new rules and training at his new home. Belle is a beautiful looking mare who is in need of a new home as her
owner no longer has enough time for her, she deserves to be somewhere
where she will receive regular attention as she is very loving and
social. Although she is very quiet and has had some beginning dressage
lessons she hasn't been ridden in 6 months so an intermediate to
experienced rider is recommended. She doesn't have any major or nasty
habits she is just not being ridden enough and needs regular work and
attention to bring her back to being a consistent, enjoyable mount under
saddle. An experienced rider would have no problems with her. She was
only raced once so has no racing traits, she would need to be shod if
she was to be taken on the road. Her feet & teeth are done regularly.

This poor old fellow found his way into the pound somehow and had run out of time. He's now enjoying life at his foster carers house, he's housetrained, a real no problem boy, gets on well children and likes to hang around where you are (ie at your feet in the lounge room), still got enough energy for going out for a walk, clear eyes, no problem at all with the cats (even touches noses) or the other male keeshond at his carers place. .
Max has had skin problems but nothing out of the ordinary and this should settle down with the right treatment and care and of course a good diet. Max would love being an inside dog as being a keeshond he just wants to be part of your family and included in things.
He probably hasn't been looked after the best for a little while now so this boy deserves to live out his final years in a very loving home - he's a very dear old loving soul.

We are not entirely sure what breed Daisy is, maybe Chihuahua X Maltese??, but we do know that Daisy is a very sweet but incredibly shy girl. Daisy is still quite young, she’s not a digger, but she does love to play chasings with her new friend Yoda. She would like a home where no one raises there voice at her (she finds this affects her confidence quite a bit so its a non negotiable requirement in her new home.) Calm consistent handling works well for her. Because she is so sensitive to her humans we feel that she would bond very well with her new owner. She does seem to have a slight preference towards a female owner. She MUST go to a home with another dog as she is very dependant on the other dog for confidence. Once she relaxes she is very loving and loves to follow you around. Once she trusts you she is very affectionate & will push to the front of the pack for cuddles. She will sometimes wet herself if over excited or afraid (although we have noticed that this is becoming a lot rarer now that she has settled). She is has not been an indoor dog & we haven’t yet convinced her that she is allowed inside. She is not used to walking on a lead and will take time before she will manage this. She travels very well in the car.
She is a sweet girl who needs a quiet & understanding home. In return you will get a beautiful loving companion.

Poor Flower came out of the pound with extremely bad cat flu. She went down hill as a result and stopped eating and was severely dehydrated. She had to spend several days at the vets on a drip. To top it off she also had a large abscess on her head which was infected and burst. Flower is going to make a full recovery and we are seeking sponsorship for this lovely lass to help cover her vet bills which have so far come to $252

She is a very affectionate girl who loves attention and I believe she would settle in well with children. Morgan is litter trained, and is learning to use her scratching post. She isn't picky about her food, but will play with it sometimes which is a bit strange to watch, but just proves she is a kitten in an adults body. She is also happy to curl up on the lounge with you while you watch TV (as long as you can hear it over her purring!). Morgan would be perfect for a home that wants a confident adult who is still as inquisitive and playful as a kitten.

We came across Suki quite by accident sitting on the lap of a 3 year old child in a stroller being walked around a shopping center, it was quite a sight.
She was sitting calmly not even trying to get away. Even being carried around the local park while the child played she was happily going along for the ride.
Naturally i went to say hi and thats when i was told about her family being evicted and them having nowhere to go and they were looking at having to leave them behind should no one be able to take them. Suki and her brother Crispy are now in care and doing really well.
Suki is an affectionate girl who loves to come up for pats and will happily sleep purring on your chest if you let her, she is lovely. Suki has obviously had alot of handling with her previous owners and now in her foster home with 4 human children of various ages she is very tolerant of them all. They were afraid of dogs at first but quickly learned that the dogs here will not harm them and are drinking out of the same bowl with my old dog without a worry. Puppies are a bit much for them but they would be fine in a home with a calm cat friendly dog.

Crispy is an endearing little bloke very affectionate and funny. He comes when he is called and sits happily on my lap while i work on the computer. Allthough i must say it is difficult to work when he's being so cute rubbing up against me rubbing against my arms and hands purring his little head off lol. And if thats not enough when he's really happy he sort of flips onto his side allmost as if he's playing dead for belly rubs lol.
He likes to splay himself out pretty much anywhere~ he surveys while i go about my business. He is very companionable.
Crispy and his sister Suki are very funny to watch play and stalk each other. When they've had enough they curl up together in a mirror image pose (they are available seperately though).
He is fine with other dogs provided they are reasonably calm and cat friendly of course.

Ghostt and Jamm came to us at 1 week old in a litter of 7 kittens who's mum had been killed by a snake. The rest of the litter unfortunately died as they were just so small and these 2 have struggled so very hard to stay alive and have been a whisper away from death many times. They were so underweight and so tiny in size and still being bottle feed at 8 weeks old until they were finally able to eat solids and have since grown into their paws. They are now healthy, happy playful little mites but because of all they have been through Jamm in particular needs Ghostt as he has no confidence without her and stresses if he cant see her, everything he does is based around her while Ghostt is quite confident. They need to go together to a quiet household with no small children and no other cats as Ghostt does not like other cats. They spend their days in a spare bedroom playing in their tunnel, climbing up and over the bed and trying to entice the residents dogs to play.These two siblings must be rehomed together.

Tinka is a friendly dog who loves affection, the quintessential lap dog!
She does love a walk though and goes really well on a lead. Tinka is living
with 2 other small dogs and is playing well with them but would be fine also
as an only dog. She is probably not suited to the younger children as she
is a fairly shy dog and may find younger kids and bigger dogs too
boisterous. Tinka is now living inside mostly and has picked up toilet
training straight away. She will make a lovely companion dog and as she is

Morgan is a lovely young boy with plenty of energy and personality he really just wants to be loved... By anyone. Morgan has Inflammatory Bowel Diease, which is easily controlled by a healthy diet and tablets that he will need to be given on and off for the rest of his life, this does not affect his behavior one bit he is still as active as ever.
Morgan is the kind of dog that needs to be included in everything that is going on in the house and he also thinks that everyone is here to play and give him all of the attention. He loves being indoors he is house trained and can use a doggie door. He would ideally love to be the only dog to have all of the affection but at the moment he is living quiet happily with 3 other dogs but he can be a bit jealous if he is left out of a cuddle or pat.
Morgan can sit, and walks great on the lead he is learning to stay and drop but occasionally he gets over excited so he will need someone to carry on with his training. Morgan would be suited to an active family with older children who can play with him.

Morgan has been in care for 5 months and during this time he's suffered from bad diarrohea that until recently had been unexplained. We are happy to report that after months of tests and trials with medications that Morgans condition is now under control and he's ready for adoption. Snoop is such a little sweetie and he's turning out to be such a fast learner - we had him sitting and staying in the first day home. He is still very much a puppy though so is always very excited to greet you or meet new people. We're working on stopping him from jumping up. He's catching onto that one slowly but I think he finds it difficult to overcome his initial excitement! He's picking up the idea of fetch and come.
Snoop is very food and affection orientated which makes training a breeze and he's house trained and generally a very quiet boy. We've been using the 'gentle leader' to take him for walks each day and he behaves very well, just trotting along next to us, tail wagging in the air and nose to the ground.
Loves getting attention from strangers. He's fine when passing other dogs,just a few snorts in their direction and a friendly wag of the tail.
With continued training this young boy will grow up to be an exceptional family companion.

Sarsha was surrendered to the pound because she just got too old for breeding. She was so thin and her coat was in such poor condition as she had been bred out. We had her desexed straight away and she now has the most beautiful big fluffy coat, has put on weight and is happy with life now. She keeps very much to herself, walks as slow as a snail and loves her food. She doesn't have much to say about life, prefers to meander around and take lots of little Sarsha naps. Her legs are a bit stiff, when we got her she spent months pacing a rectangle space all night long as obviously she had been caged for a very long time. She has moved past that but is still very quiet and just prefers to wander around and stay to herself.

She was painfully thin when she came into care but has plumped up nicely in the last week or so. She's a cutie willing to give you all the love she's got. We have had Scrappy (named for his resemblance to the Scrappy Doo cartoon character) for 4 years and believe him to be approx 5 years old as we originally rescued him from the pound. He is very loving and affectionate, food obsessed and therefore easily trained and a real character. He has been a wonderful companion for our bigger dog.
Everyone asks what sort of dog he is and there have been many guesses but the most popular one is a Sausage dog head stuck on a long low Staffy body. One ear is always up and the tail never stops wagging - very low maintenance, never needs to go to the vet. Scrappy ignores our cat and I am sure would learn to do the same in any other home.
Scrappy has been good with other dogs and children to date but has started showing some signs of jealousy with our 13 month old son. I would recommend a home where there are no children under five in the immediate family and as he is not very big he would be fine in a smaller home.
We are heartbroken at having to find somewhere new for him and want to make sure it’s the best of homes, so please pass this on to anyone who you think could offer him this.

Maximus is your typical stud cat. He's confident and affectionate and quickly learns to love his new home. Maximus loves to be patted and will roll on his back for tummy pats. He will head-butt you with his very large head for attention and meow just to make sure you know he's there. Although Maximus has been a stud cat in the past, he has never sprayed inside the house and also uses his scratching post religiously. Maximus loves to snooze around the house, joining you on the lounge for an afternoon nap. Maximus isn't really a hit with the ladies, they find him intimidating and scary as he hasn't realised he's been desexed yet. Update 22/5/08: Sadly Billy has just been diagnosed with cancer. We are working with vets to see what can be done for Billy and what treatments will be his best option.
Billy is a beautifully natured horse with a no fuss attitude.
Billy was surrendered into the
organisation as the previous owners were unwilling to treat his
sarcoid and felt he was ugly. Since being on better pastures and mineral
supplements the sarcoids have halved in size. We are seeking sponsorship to help pay for treatments and vitamin supplements to treat
Billy's sarcoid.
