**Special Needs Cat**
Roly Poly is a special girl looking for special home. She is devoted and loyal friend however she is very shy, and will take quite some time to come out of her shell and bond with her new owner. Roly is looking for a home where she is the only feline resident. She would prefer to live with an older person, or someone who enjoys peace and quiet. Roly needs to be an 'inside only' cat as she has never been outside and is terrified of loud noises and unfamiliar territory. One of her favourite things to do is sit on the window sill and watch the world go by. Roly is also very inquisitive and will happily play with toys alone. She doesn't need to be played with or entertained and is very low maintenance. Roly is 100% litter trained and doesn't scratch the furniture. She also sheds little fur and is a very clean and tidy cat! Once she knows and trusts you she will sit with you on the lounge, and sometimes even curl up in bed with you on those cooler nights. Jamie is a beautiful long haired tabby, she is a very affectionate little girl who loves to curl up on your lap for a cuddle or just a pat on the head will do...she isn't fussy as long as she gets attention! Jamie would fit into any household and would be an asset to any family. Since Jamie came from the pound we don't know much of her past but somewhere along the line she has and received an injury to both her back legs. She has had a operation on her left leg and is doing very well, we thought she needed surgery on other leg done but since a recent vet visit the vet has cleared her of needing the other leg done. She has make a great recovery but may always have a small limp on the left leg. Jamie would need to be a indoor cat. She is now ready to find her forever home.

Jamie has got luxating patella's in her back legs which causes her to not be able to walk properly in the back end, she has recently had surgery on her left leg which was the worst of the two, she is recovering very well, and the latest good news from the vet is that the other leg doesn't need surgery and should be fine.

She tries to run away from the storms so she would need at least 6ft high secure fencing and a safe enclosure for her to hide in when she cant escape. She is an extremely gentle and friendly girl, is well behaved, great with other dogs, walks well on a lead, loves the car and would make a family a very wonderful addition to any family as long as she is in a safe secure environment.

**Special Needs Kitten**
Hissy is a bit confused after spending the first few months of her life alone in a paddock. She came into care extremely underweight and full of worms. She hadn't known human attention and unlike the other kittens also found in the paddock who soaked up their foster carers cuddles and attention after a few days, Hissy was a bit too traumatised. Several months later and she is a fit and healthy young girl who now enjoys cuddles and will headbutt you for more pats and arch her back in delight of receiving attention. However she's a bit mixed up and instead of meowing for attention she hisses (hence her name). Hissy is just getting used to being picked up and she will require a home that can be patient and continue her recovery. Hissy would be suited to a home with or without other cats and preferably a quieter household. She will most likely turn into a lovely lapcat in the right environment.
Update 29/6/08: Hissy is progressing into a very affectionate cat. She loves attention and rushes to you for pats and caresses. She's tolerant of being picked up but is yet to truly enjoy a good cuddle. She is happy being nose to nose for kisses and although she is still hissing at odd moments, she seems to be starting to learn to meow and squeak for attention like a normal cat.

Bim raced till he was eight and then was a lovely riding horse for many years after that. He's too old to ride now, but would make a very good companion horse or family pet. He is a sweet natured and gentlemanly old man who is easy to catch, handle, worm, do feet, teeth etc and he has been kept wormed, with teeth and feet trimmed regularly. He is still quite sprightly and canters down for his feed twice a day and needs a loving home with lots of cuddles and attention. He is safe around children - our first child (now 14) learned to walk holding onto his legs!.

We are not sure exactly what breeds Tiny Timmy has in him, but he
certainly is cute. There might be some staffy looking at his big
smile, but as Timmy weighs around 10kg there must be a lot of little
dog too. We think we can see a hint of Chihuahua.
Timmy knows to sit for pats and also sits to have his lead put on for
walks. Currently he is living outside during the day, and comes in
during the evening to spend time with his humans.
He loves to helped up into your lap for cuddles and pats.

German Shepherds.

Scooby was sadly surrendered by his owners as they have no time for him. He is a sweet and loving boy that loves people and is fine with other dogs but as he has spent the first few months of his life as an only dog he does require some guidance when meeting new dogs for the first time. He is a lovely dog that wants nothing more than to please his owners. He does require some training but walks well on the lead and as he is a smart boy he will pick things up quickly. Scooby would be fine as an only dog as long as he had enough stimulation during the day, although ideally he would love a home with another doggie friend for company. He would be great with slightly older children as he might knock very little ones over. Snoopy is a lovely chocolate colour and is obviously a lab x, he is slightly larger than your average Labrador in height and he has a short, low maintenance coat . Kozi is an extremely intelligent kitten.
Kozi was bottle fed from 2 weeks of age after his mother was run over by a car.
He is a VERY active boy who will come up to you for a cuddle, but then likes to go off exploring again.
He is constantly wandering into rooms around the house to find items he can bring out to play with, such as bath plugs, make-up containers, nail file protectors, actually anything he can pick up in his mouth is OK to him.
He also loves to play with his cat toys as well as other cats.
He loves to play with water and when he drinks he wraps his body around the bowl and puts his head sideways into the bowl to lick off the side, or alternatively he will dip his paw into the water and lick his wet paw.
He is also very interested in a flushing toilet and will drink out of a toilet as well.
Kozi gets on extremely well with our large dog and is very happy to eat out of her bowl when she is eating as well.
Very easy to feed as he isn't fussy about the types of food he gets - kibble is fine to him as well as trying to entice you to hand some of your food off your plate as well.
Kozi is a really wonderful boy.

Poor Mr Snuffy came into care in appalling condition. His coat was so matted he needed to be shaved almost completely. Bam is very quite and gentle for a young dog. He hardly barks or whines or even demands food.

Having missed crucial basic training and socialisation at a young age Fynne came into care with little idea of how to behave or interact with people & other dogs. Since then she has been receiving guidance & training from her carer in basic commands and can now sit & wait to be released for meals or for going through doors. She is currently working on "drop" from the sitting position. She now knows how to play fetch & can retrieve & drop the ball/toy for as long as you wish to throw for her.
Her interaction with people can be quite enthusiastic, having not quite finished the teenager stage, but she does respond so well to positive rewards. She does not jump on anyone in the family but still gets excited when a stranger comes into the yard. She listens when she is instructed not to jump up, but has not yet found this an intrinsic skill. Fynne hardly ever barks, if ever she does it's due to someone approaching the door late at night. She absolutely loves to chase the garden hose & would spend hours trying to catch the water spray if you let her, she's even attempted some swimming in our pool. Once or twice accidentally & a few times on purpose as she wants to be with us when we play.
After some consistant training she now walks on lead very well for me & will sit at the pavement edge & wait for my signal to cross, however she has not yet been fully socialised with other dogs.
She is improving with her interactions but still has some way to go before she will be relaxed in other dogs company. Her enthusiasm, excitement & sometimes fear of other dogs, (depending on their demeanor) needs to be managed and she needs direction & guidance in how to behave appropriately. Therefore previous experience of German Shepherds will be looked on favorably when rehoming Fynne. She is attending dog training school at the moment to improve her social interactions with other dogs & is progessing well.
She was underweight when she came into care but has blossomed nicely. Though she can be fussy over food she is always polite & sits well, ready to be fed.
She needs a caring environment with a firm approach and strong leadership. She will take a little time to bond to you but once she does you will rewarded with a totally loyal companion.

Marshall and Madison, or M&M as we call them, are from a recent litter taken from the pound. They are Mastiff x but do not stand up against the typical size of a mastiff pup for their current age, so we doubt they will reach that size.
Marshall is an intelligent little guy, who is learning to sit, come to his name and is adapting well to the home environment. Marshall being the more active one is always running jumping and playing and is always the ring leader for their little expeditions in the backyard & after you can usually find him asleep under the couch. He gets on well with other dogs has learned his position of hierarchy with cats and loves to be around people.
Maddie is smaller than her brother and you could say doesn’t even look like she is from the same litter. She is a beautiful chocolate brown in colour with a very short smooth and soft coat. She has an extremely cute disposition. She loves to cuddle, and just as clever as Marshall learning to sit and fit well into the family environment. Maddie being a sookie baby is such a sweetheart once you seen how cuddly and adorable she is you'll understand why her name is Maddie.

Wally is the sweetest smoochiest cuddliest little man! Everybody adores him, he won't be easy to part with. As with all our foster babies we are looking for a special home for him who will love appreciate his adorable affectionate nature. Wally was surrendered to the pound with his mum and siblings through no fault of their own. His mother was in terrible condition but Wally and his siblings looked ok, poor mummy gave them everything she had.
We hope to find Wally the kind of home that will allow him to be part of the family. He is great with children and other dogs. He just loves cuddles he likes to snuggle into your neck and cling onto you like a baby. When he's excited to see you he gives little grunty squeaky sounds. His mother was a largeish dog and while we don't know what kind of dog his father was it's probably safe to assume he's going to grow to be a big solid boy.
Pheobe is a friendly, gentle little girl. She is great around children and plays well other dogs. Pheobe is such a good girl with such sad little eyes. She always waits patiently for her turn to be cuddled and is quiet in general. Ellie is a pretty, friendly and active girl. She is very intelligent and obedience trained (she would suit advanced training). As she can be a little willful, we don't consider her suitable for a first time dog owner. However, she would be an ideal second dog to keep another active dog occupied. Ellie just loves play!!! The love of her life is fetching the ball which makes her a pleasure to exercise and easy to bond with.

Holly

This young bundle of purrs was obviously loved by someone as she just adores her people.
Holly absolutely loves attention. When it comes to pats and cuddles her theory is two hands are better than one.
She is a big purrer and turns it on as soon as she spots you.
She's not particularly curious and will sit patiently when you're busy. As soon as you're done, she'll remind
you she's there with a cute little meow and will rush over to see if its cuddle time.
Holly is not a fussy eater and when coaxed to play shows how kitten-like she still is and so would need supervision
with younger children. She is fully house and litter-trained, not much of a climber and is not destructive.
She's fine with all the noise of a household, likes to help with sweeping and isn't fazed by the vacuum.
Shes far more interested in human company and loses interest in anything else when people are around.
Holly is initially wary around other cats and hasnt been around dogs whilst in care.
This wariness is possibly due to living on the streets fending for herself and her 4 babies before ending up at the shelter.
Being only a teenager herself she did a marvelous job of raising her young as they were all fit and healthy and adopted straight from the pound.
Now its this beautiful girls turn to find a new home to call her own.

Besides becoming the ruler of the household at only 4 and a bit months, crackers has also has grown accustom to sleeping in his carers arms every evening, while you watch a bit of TV, but if it is a colourful show he will sit on the arm of the chair with you and watch.
When you first walk in the door he loves to greet you and tell you all about his day. Crackers is a lovely boy who will suit most households, he is such a sweetie and loves being caried around the house like a ragdoll but he does tend to carry on when strangers come to visit, otherwise he is a perfect little boy.

Kilo is a lovely boy that has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia. Although he is not in any pain at the moment he will require medication later in his life when his hips deteriorate and start to cause some pain. He is a happy and energetic Labrador that adores people and just wants to please. He gets along great with other dogs including my dominant male and loves to play with his foster brothers and sisters. He will sit for pats and will wait for his dinner although does require some training on his walks. He would ideally love a home with another doggie friend to keep him company or a family that was home most of the day. Mambo is a gorgeous boy that is very well behaved for his age and breed. He is great with other dogs and loves nothing more to play as he is still a pup. He does require training on his walks as he can get very excited and pull a bit but he is a smart boy and very receptive so he should be easy to train. Sally was found at a work site with her 5 kittens who unfortunately didn't make it. Since being in foster care she is doing really well, she is a very affectionate and loving cat but is picky when making new friends, but once she gets to know you she will be your best friend. She is a young cat and will adjust to her new family quite quickly but she needs an indoor home with no young children....where she will soon love the comfort of your bed and lap!! Sally is a clever little girl with gorgeous markings. She looks to be listening to you when you speak to her and is very responsive which makes her highly trainable. Sally loves her belly rubs and is even tempered and friendly.
Goggles is a but of a sook, she goes all coy and when you pick her up and talk to her she's a hunny. It's difficult to get a picture of Goggles because she allways tries to climb into my lap and smooch up into my neck she's just so sweet!
Pumpkin the little red girl is just such a little cutie pie. She's is calm and responsive and plays well with sisters and other dogs in general. She is great around my children and you can just tell she's going to grow up into a really sensible good natured dog.
All three puppies are active, friendly and happy little tykes. They are suited to a home where they will have lots of love, interaction and will be taken on regular walks ect. They are being fostered around children of varying ages and are quite good with them all.

Zoe was surrendered to the pound as an unwanted gift. Her owner was alone and family thought that a companion would assist. Unfortunately, this is the case for many puppies that find themselves in the pounds.
Zoë is a blue black cattle cross with smaller than average sized legs so we don't believe she will end up as tall as a cattle.
