Mojo is a very friendly, happy little boy who loves other dogs. He would

Milky is such a treat of a cat. She is the most
lovely cat and instantly purrs when you pick her up. She is mostly
interested in people and not so much with other cats, although she gets along ok with them and can be caught napping arm in arm with her carers resident cat.
She still has some kitten playfullness about her so would suit a home without small children, but otherwise she is a great cat for a home after an affectionate, cat who likes to follow you around and enjoy your company.

Shortly after Milky came home from being desexed it was discovered that her stitches were not keeping her wound closed and part of her abdomen was hanging outside of her wound. She had to be rushed to the emergency vet hospital and undergo major surgery only 8 or so hours after being desexed. The surgery had to open up her wound properly, wash out and suction her abdomen to make it sterilised again, and then re-close her. She required another bout of anaesthetic as well as a couple of pain medications (which she still requires 4 days after the surgery). Whilst the emergency vet hospital (which did an absolutely amazing job) were very kind as to discount her fees by more than half the total owing, her bill is still quite expensive. Whilst she is now once again her usual self (constantly seeking cuddles and kisses) we are seeking donations to help us cover the services provided by the wonderful vets that saved her life. These 3 gorgeous kittens were left without a mum at about 3 weeks of age when she was hit by a car.
They were bottle fed from then on.
Snowflake - RIGHT KITTEN IN THE PHOTO - is the most outgoing of the 3, and also the largest. He is the one who will always be found where he isn't supposed to be. He runs around chasing the other 2 a lot and also likes to be around our large dog.
Tinka - MIDDLE KITTEN IN THE PHOTO - has the most gorgeous face. She is a very petite little girl but that doesn't stop her running around at full speed either chasing her brothers or being chased by them.
These 3 kittens have all been raised with a large dog as well as other cats and are very at ease with these animals. They especially like to go to one of the older cats and get themselves cleaned by him.

Sulo

This little girl has the best personality I've ever seen in a kitten.
She is full of life, has an extremely loud purr and considering she is very young now, it will get louder.
Sulo was found in a garbage bin (hence the name) by a school cleaner. He heard a russle in the garbage bag when he emptied the bin, thought the noise would be a rat, and was extremely surprised to see a tiny kitten (about 4 weeks of age) looking up at him. He took her to the local vets (after checking if any others were in the bin as well) and she was kept there till she could eat properly.
It's anybodies guess how she got to be in the bin, but it would have been impossible for her to climb in there herself.
Sulo gets on well with other cats and kittens as well as a large dog.
She loves to jump out and grab you around the ankle as you walk by.
Lately her trick is to lay low so she thinks you can't see her but doesn't realise her ears are sticking up. Very cute.
Sulo would be fantastic for a family with slightly older kids, as she does like to play roughly with you rolling around and pouncing
Sulo will need to be an inside only cat all her life because of her pink nose.

Poor Little Bronson came into care with absolutely putrid teeth. They were rotting, green and stunk awfully. The vets advised that all his teeth would require removal. The surgery was recently undertaking and Bronson is now feeling much better and able to eat with ease. In the end he didn't have all his teeth removed as he has peridontal disease which means his jaw was eroding and removal of some of his teeth caused a split in his jaw so the vet thought it best to not remove all his teeth to avoid further damage. Bronsons surgery has cost $600 and we are seeking donations to help us cover these vet costs. Roxy

Timid and shy when she came into care, Roxy was a bundle of nerves when she met the cattle dogs she now shares a home with.. But it didn't take long for her to learn to trust them and she now runs with them like she knew them all along.
She has grown into a confident and assertive pup, and is quick to learn to follow commands that the other dogs already know. Due to her obvious intelligence she will need to have an owner who is able to demonstrate strong leadership with her or she will try and rule the house. Ideally, a home with a family willing to enrol her and participate with her at a local obedience would ensure that she has an avenue to concentrate and use the intelligence she is demonstrating so far.
She would ideally be suited in a home where she has either human company all the time or another pup or dog for company. Actually she would probably be fine with a cat as a best friend as she was more comfortable with the cats in her foster home than the dogs to start with, even though she can have a tendency to be a bit excited when around them. She runs after them but the first time she met one of the cats here she tried to rub her face on them like she was a kitten..
Little Roxy Red Dogs (as she is known) has such soulful eyes and watches intently when you speak to her.. She will try to please whoever she chooses to make her home with, and I am sure they will be just as pleased at having her as a best friend.

Toby

Toby is a massive cat with a gentle personality. He weighs approx 5kg and has a large impressive head with big green eyes to match! Toby likes being an 'inside only' cat and enjoys sleeping in front of the heater. Tobys not really into playing and would prefer a home where he sleep comfortably and be patted to his hearts content. He has a very deep purr and loves being scratched under his chin. Toby is very easy to handle and is not a fussy eater. Although he hasn't been around children, I believe toby would settle in well with them due to his docile nature. He is also 100% toilet trained and hasnever sprayed inside the house. Toby is good with other cats, but would also be happy as the only feline in the household. This beautiful boy was brought into the vet by a concerned lady who had noticed him hanging around her house. He was microchipped (as a girl mind you!) so the vet called his owner. The owner said he had been missing for too long and he didn't want him back and instructed the vet to take him to the pound! Toby is now happily in DCH care and we would like to find him a home with a new owner who would always want him back.

Toby had been living on the streets for approximately 12 months before coming into DCH care. Living of anything he could find had taken its toll on his teeth with his left lower canine tooth needing to be removed. As you can see from the photos this tooth is much smaller, yellower and is starting to show infection around the gumline. This tooth will need to be removed and we are seeking sponsorship to cover this costs.
UPdate 5/8/08: Toby's operation has gone well, the tooth ended up being rotted to the core and their was lots of infectious matter under the tooth. He's now recovering from his surgery and will be ready for his new home shortly.

Poor little Millie has suffered an injury when only very small, as a result she has some scar tissue on her head giving her a big lump as shown in the picture. This doesn't affect her at all and should reduce in size as she gets bigger.

Cooper is a typical loveable and excitable GSP. He is obedience trained but pushes the boundaries so he probaby requires an experienced owner. He gets along fantastically with other dogs and is obsessed with fetching the ball. He loves children but was surrendered because he was too hyper with the little ones - so we would recommend he only be homed with children around 10 or older. Cooper gets very anxious when left alone so he needs to be with another dog or an owner who is home most of the time. We would also advise 6 foot fences as he will try to pursue birds. He is fine with other dogs (It hasn't occurred to him that that another dog may not like him). His tail never stops wagging and he loves a game of fetch. He does know some basic commands but he does have trouble concentrating when he is excited. Trevor's ideal family will have a large backyard & walk him twice a day. He would love another energetic companion to keep him company and play with. He is also lifetime registered.

Poor Simba was rescued from the pound with a terribly matted coat. While he was under being desexed the vet staff tried to brush out his coat but it was so bad around the backside, rear legs and tail that he needed to be shaved in those areas. After all this the poor boy got such an infection from the desexing operation that he could not lay down and was trying to go to sleep standing up. After another visit to the vets , appropriate medication, an Elizabethan collar and lots of TLC from his foster family he is doing very well. He was suspected of being a Keeshond x when originally rescued from the pound but now he’s in care he is more likely a Samoyed x Belgium Shepherd. Whatever his parentage his, he is a stunningly unique looking 2 year old boy, being all black except for a little white patch on his chest and with the classic spitz pointed ears and face, a curled tail and thick long coat, what a particularly handsome boy he is.
He is a very lovable boy, he has such a gentle sweet nature and just loves everyone.

Bronte is a happy little girl with a carefree spirit.. Nothing seems to bother her much and she is learning more as she grows every day.. Then 1 day they looked out their window and decided that there were far too many dogs in the backyard and as she was no longer needed Coco was surrendered to the pound. Her breeding days are now over and she is looking for a family to love and take care of her for the rest of her days. Sam is a unique looking dog. With beautiful Merle markings that get darker around his back and tan over his legs. We're not sure what Sam is but he has the body shape of a Pointer or Great Dane type and is looking to be a large size boy when fully grown. Sam knows basic obedience commands but needs work on lead and when out and about as sadly he's been a bit unsocialised during his puppy months. Sam is very friendly and loves people. He's good with other dogs and very playful, but a home with another playful dog who is older and can teach him some doggy manners would be ideal. Sam is still learning not to jump up and like many large breed adolescent dogs, he's unaware of his own size. So small kids could easily be knocked over, but Sam's intentions are well meaning. Zorro is a very stunning black spitz. He is the larger type. he would be approx 15kg.
He is black with some grey/charcoal around his nose and has streaks of grey through his magnificent tail.
From what I have seen of Zorro he is a very intelligent dog and walks very well on the lead. He makes himself at home by moving blankets and putting them on his trampoline bed.
He is definately the type of dog that needs to be included in activities. I would say he could stay outside with shelter for part of the day but when you are home would like attention and be inside with you.
I think Zorro would be good at obedience etc as he seems to pick up things pretty quick and is very obliging. He would be a very loyal dog to someone who could give him the attention he deserves.

Gizmo may not be traditionally beautiful but he is very cute in his own way.
Some people who have seen him think he is absolutely gorgeous (which of
course he is). His coat is a lovely golden colour and will not take much
grooming at all, just a good brush now and then. He does have bat-type ears
which only makes him cuter. Gizmo does have one good party trick - he can
do a handstand and walks along on his two front legs - very amusing.
Gizmo is a very well behaved boy and is definitely an inside dog. He is
housetrained and is great in the car. Gizmo is used to being off lead at
the dog park and beach and comes when called. He is good with other dogs
but would probably be fine as an only dog as long as he has someone around.
Although he is only young he does seem to like the quieter life where he can
just sit on your lap all day and sleep curled up beside you at night. He
does like to get out for a walk but would not require a lot of exercise.

Mushu or little Moo as I call her is a hoot, she runs all over the place like a spring, she fluffs up and bounces across the lounge room and onto the chair where she wait till a cat walks past to jump on. She loves to play with balls and the other cats, not to fond of dogs but not scared either. She will climb the crate of a morning to say hi and want a cuddle, she is a cuddle bunny if she could have cuddled all day she would.

Christina - Blue Female - This little girl approaches everything at a dead run. She loves to chase a ball and could play for the Socceroos she's that coordinated.
Normally the first one out the gate and the first to approach anything new and foray where the others havent yet discovered.
Shes already attempted to greet the resident adult cat though he wasnt up for it.
Even with that high level of confidence, shes the submissive one of the litter esp when it comes to dinner and will always defer to her sister Carla and brother Calvin when they commandeer the food bowls.
Carla - Blue Female - Carla is the smallest, however she makes up for it with personality. Shes a little fireball and attacks all her siblings with gusto.
I think shes tried to bluff them into believing shes a big toughy, and its working. All but Calvin back off when she wants something,
and shes whipped them all mostly into line. Carla loves to climb and perch in high places, where she can survey the surroundings and
plan out her next move.
Caden - Ginger Male - He seems a bit of an old soul and just watches the world so calmly.
The least excitable of the kittens, he's pretty laid back and picks the opportune moments to get in on the action of his siblings, but backs out again when the odds arent in his favour.
He's very curious, but approaches everything at a walk. He's the biggest of the four but is like the big friendly giant, he often gets beaten up by Carla and Calvin
and is not at all aggressive. He quite happily contents himself playing with dangly toys (feathers on elastic) He would be the best pick for a family environment.
Calvin- Champagne Male - Calvin is the innocent looking one. Not so innocent over the dinner bowl where he'll try to stake his claim over everything til he stuffs himself silly.
He's normally one step behind Christina when it comes to exploring. He's a very playful and active little kitten. He, Christina and Carla all give as good as they get, and love playing together.
He prefers playing with his siblings to playing with toys.

Hi my names Spike. I love humans but don't worry I'll let you know if a stranger enters the yard. Watch out though once I've been introduced to you I expect lots of cuddles. I'm a VERY affectionate little man who was surrended with my mate Teddy to the pound - I can't understand why, no one gives as good as cuddles as me. Just ask my foster mum. I have very expressive eyes and although I'm fine outside I love being inside with you. I quite happily stay on my bed (your laps better though) and I'm no trouble. I have grade 1 luxating patella, (a very mild grade) which doesn't bother me at all. I also have a couple of grey whiskers (I think I look distinguished). I love cuddles from everyone - kids too, however I am quite small so kids over 6 would be better as someone younger may accidentally hurt me. I am ok with other dogs (I can get jealous though),which is why one friend in the yard is enough competition. On the other hand I do need that one companion as I will get bored without them. My foster mum thinks I might have a bit of pug in me as I bond very strongly to my owner and have similar colouring to a pug. I love my walks and my foster mum says I'm quite good ( except when I stop half way to reassure her that I still love her lots). I would prefer an experienced dog owner who understands the importance of the human being the pack leader.

Gentle, sweet, snuggly, affectionate aren't the sort of description
people expect when they are considering owning a cattle dog.. but young
Angus is all that and more...
He is a lively little fellow who is proving to be a very quick learner.
He recognised his name within hours of being named Angus, and has since
proven to be obedient when called, responding well to sit and come as
well as other commands.
Angus is a smoochy boy who loves cuddles, being showered with affection
and attention, and is looking for a home where he could come inside on a
daily basis and enjoy the company of his humans.
He likes to play with the other cattle dogs where he is living at the
moment, and mixes well with dogs of all ages. He is a submissive boy
when he is approached by other dogs, then comes out of his shell and
enjoys play and banter with them.
His current foster home has also afforded Angus exposure to the cats
living there, and continued interaction with them should enable him to
consider a home where there is a dog savvy cat.
He likes to play with his toys, however would much prefer the company
and play that comes from interaction with other dogs and would be best
placed in a home where he has the company of another dog.
Angus is still only a pup with much to learn from humans willing to
continue teaching him, and would enjoy being part of an active family
who will encourage him to direct his energy in a positive way, through
play and exercise.
If you are looking for a boy who loves to run and play but also settle
down at night for cuddles with, then Angus could be the friend you have
been looking for.

Gomez is an affectionate black indoors only cat who would make a great companion. He will greet you when you come home from work (after having slept the day away) with purrs and rubs against your legs. He has had no problems learning and respecting which rooms he is allowed into.He is not a great talker but will call for you if he wants to know where you are. and in alot of pain due to a broken hip socket. the vet thinks she may
have been hit by a car quite some time ago as it looked like a very old
injury and Pash was never treated. Since her operation Pash has fully
recovered, the only side effect Pash will have is that she will always
now walk with a limp, so Pash would be suitable as an indoor cat only,
in a nice quiet household without small children. Pash gets on well with
our whole family and doesn't seem to mine the family dog.So if you

Cherry came into care with her one day old pups having been picked up in a paddock by the ranger. She showed no interest in being loved or cared for and did not even wag her tail. After 5 days we managed to see the "frost" was beginning to thaw and she came to me for some love and since then she haven't looked back. She had such severe ear blockage in both ears due to neglect and we thought that she may be permanently deaf but luckily for Cherry our vet has been able to clear the ears and she can now hear and is a normal healthy little girl. She only comes up to mid-calf (30cms to her shoulder height) and she has a slightly feathery coat and is a wonderful chest-nutty colour. Her pups have been rehomed so she is ready to go to a family wanting a contented, lovely sweet nature dog to adore.

Nikki is an extremely pretty girl with lots of love to give who loves cuddles and to be with people. She has a really unique way of relaxing with her two hind legs spread out like a frog as shown in one of the photos below. Nikki is a very obedient girl who knows how to sit and stay and would be easily trained as she loves to please you and is very clever and responsive. She would need to be an only dog as she is not very fond of other dogs, however she is fine with cats and birds and is currently travelling with a Galah in the same car every weekend for an hour or more within very close proximity of each other and it is the bird that creates the uproar while Nikki totally ignores him, it is so funny to watch the 2 of them together. She loves to travel in the car, always first in then you will be lucky to get her out. She loves to play with balls, sticks any toys on offer and she will bring you so much joy, her eyes are full of expression and sometimes you feel like she is talking to you with them. We would love for Nikki to find what she deserves which is a loving 1 dog only home and where she knows she will be looked after for the rest of her life.

She is a little shy but probably only because of what she has been through and has only just arrived at her foster carer's place. I would say she would be suited to a home with adults and prefer a quiet environment. Tasha has the markings of a seal point bicolour ragdoll so could possibly be a ragdoll cross. Her coat is thick and probably a bit longer than normal but not medium or long hair so wouldn't need to be groomed very much. She is a stunning looking girl who is looking for somewhere nice and caring to curl up and call her forever home.

Little Stubby has a green stick fracture in is right hind leg and it looks like the growth plate has seperated on his leg also. He'll be in a cast for the next two weeks but will hopefully make a full recovery

Inky is a fantastic companion, he just wants to be loved, when he greets you his whole body shakes with enthusiasm. He is very responsive to commands and is very well behaved. He knows how to sit, lay down and stay and is house trained, although he will need ongoing training. He gets on well with other dogs and is very social at the dog park although he'd prefer to be an only dog at home so he can have all of your attention. He's just discovered the dog beach and he is definately a water dog, he just loves splashing around and having a good swim. Kip has certainly landed on his feet and is a healthy, happy boy now. Poor
Kip was hit by a car and had to have emergency surgery (only soft tissue
damage which has completely healed and he is extremely healthy). After
spending weeks and weeks at the vets it was concluded that his owner was
definitely not coming back for him. It is definitely his loss as Kip is a
fantastic find. He is very obedient, walks great on a lead and is
housetrained. He is fantastic with other dogs and would love another
companion. Kip is also great with kids and would like to be part of a
family. The only down side is that Kip can jump a bit so you will need
adequate fencing. Kip is also housetrained and is currently an
inside/outside dog. Please consider Kip if you are looking for an easy
maintenance, medium sized dog as he will be over the moon to find his
forever home which he justly deserves.

Swish is a very sweet girl but becomes very attached to one person. Swish is most comfortable with a female and absolutely does not like children at all. She is not fond of men, other cats and not at all fond of dogs.
